Psilocybe cubensis belong to the Hymenogastraceae family. Their almost unmistakable bulging, flat, yellow-brown hats give them the name “golden halos.” Mt can be distinguished from its derivative counterparts by their proportionally large stem size and expanded hats. They naturally germinate in cattle feces, while in organized cultures they germinate on substrates like coffee or brown rice flour. A distinctive feature of psilocybe cubensis is the green-blue bruises on the stems.
