How to burn herbal incense?

The incense takes the form of a wand (stick) and is set on fire at the end. When the flame engulfs the herbs, it must be blown out. Then several downward, upward or circular motions are made (to provide air and keep the embers) and placed on a non-flammable stand (ceramic or metal). With the burning incense, one can move freely to fume the body or room. However, it is recommended to have a saucer with you to avoid spilling ash.
